Saturday Recycling Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Beginning December 7, the Recycling Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Representatives from Canadian National Railroad announced the following construction timeline at the Town of Richmond board meeting on November 14, 2019
NOVEMBER 18-22: Erosion control measures put in place; 14-22: Approximately 30 pieces of construction machinery and equpment brought to site.
DECEMBER 2-20: construction of phase–grading of site. Work will be performed on a “24/5″basis–from 6 a.m. on Mondays to 6 a.m. on Saturdays. Portable lights will be used at night. Nearby residents should expect a fair amout of construction noise during this phase-primarily from bulldozers and other earth-moving equipment.
SPRING,2020: (After ground thaws): Construction of site will reume.
OCTOBER 31, 2020: Completion of construction
JULY1, 2021: Operation of the Auto Transfer Facility will commence.
The Town Board is currently negotiating with representatives of Canadian National to minimize as much as possible the potential negative consequences of the operation for nearby residents–including noise, lighting, traffic routing, etc. Please direct any questions to a town board member.
The Final Estimate of population for Jan. 1, 2019 is 3,718. Approximately 2, 584 are of voting age.
